2023 Together - P464 - Leaping Forward: Designing a Health Equity Data Roadmap - On Demand
Reducing patient health inequities is a priority for all hospitals. The goal at UCHealth is to provide care that does not vary in quality because of personal characteristics such as race, gender, ethnicity, geographic location, or socioeconomic status. Data collection and analysis is the basis of all clinical effectiveness, patient safety and performance improvement efforts and is a crucial part of the health equity journey. Hospitals need to have four goals on their health equity data road map: standardization of data collection on race, ethnicity and language preferences (REaL); the ability to stratify this information; development of the skills needed to analyze key quality, safety, and experience process and outcome measures; and the ability to identify opportunities to develop patient-centered performance improvement plans.
