Weight Loss Treatment and Medication Management for Bariatric Surgery

The purposes are: to identify the medications used for obesity treatment. Identify indications for bariatric surgery, complications of bariatric procedures, and pharmacological additions, deletions, or alterations necessary perioperatively. Review the bariatric surgery guidelines and literature surrounding pharmacokinetic changes after bariatric procedures. Highlight important areas that pharmacists can intervene on, in patients in the perioperative period.
