Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program Coordinator Call - Understanding the Next AACN Essentials: Next Steps

Kathy McGuinn is presenting each domain of the new AACN Essentials as well as the new competency based evaluation process that nursing schools will use. She will focus on the different curricular aspects that will change and the process of evaluation and NCLEX readiness that is planned for undergraduate nursing schools. She will also discuss the timeline for transitioning to the new Essentials so coordinators will know when to plan for this group.

2.    Describe the new Model for Nursing Education including the transition to competency-based education. 
3.    Determine strategies for academic practice partnerships to support integration of these Essentials into practice.
