Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program Coordinator Call - Interdisciplinary Communication and SBAR

December 16, 2021

Kayla Long is a coordinator of a NRP and has designed a seminar based on increasing nurses’ knowledge and confidence communicating with physicians. She invites medical residents and groups them with nurses to role play appropriate scenarios and identify gaps or barriers in communication. She will be sharing with coordinators the design of her session, pre and post implementation data, lessons learned, and feedback from the nurse residents. This will help other coordinators implement a similar seminar in their programs.
