Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program Coordinator Call - Creating a Nurse Residency Culture

Thaiz Chanman is the AVP of Culture Change and Organizational Effectiveness at Vizient, Inc. Thaiz has spent her career developing cultures and is currently doing so at Vizient. In addition to addressing the importance of a positive nurse residency culture, Thaiz will provide coordinators with actionable steps to take to create a positive nurse residency culture at their organization. Coordinators will also leave with a tangible infographic that they can easily access when working toward their NRP culture.

1.    Explain the importance of developing a positive culture in my organization’s nurse residency program. 
2.    Identify leader behaviors that promote nursing satisfaction.
3.    Discuss the role of empathy, proactive mindset, and controlling the “controllables” in developing resilience.
4.    Use the tools provided in the session to begin to create a nurse residency program culture.
