Vizient PSO Topical Safety Webinar - Preventing Chemotherapy Medication Errors
The presenters will describe strategies used in two different academical medical cancer centers to promote safe administration of chemotherapy. The presenters from MD Anderson will highlight critical points in the chemotherapy administration process where medication errors often occur and will offer mitigation strategies to prevent future errors from occurring. The presenters from Kansas University Medical Center Cancer Center will describe how they used quality improvement methodology to address and increase the safe administration of oral chemotherapy, including sustained completion of treatment in patients receiving oral chemotherapy.
