Vizient PSO Topical Safety Web Conference Series - Perioperative management of anticoagulants

This series of activities will discuss safety issues and interventions and approaches to identifying and preventing adverse events and patient harm. Subject matter experts will share with participants leading practices, process improvement strategies to improve safety of care, and metrics to monitor improvement in the area of focus.

  1. Discuss The Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goal requirements aimed at reducing harm associated with anticoagulants in the perioperative setting.  
  2. Discuss resources to assist in the development and implementation of perioperative evidence-based protocols and guidelines.
  3. Describe a phased approach to standardize perioperative antithrombotic management.
