Sepsis: Is There Any Evidence That Supports Surviving?

This activity will give an overview of the new guidelines in screening as well as resuscitation, anti-infectives, and additional therapies for the management of sepsis and septic shock. It will also give guidance on implementing effective strategies to maximize compliance with guideline recommendations while minimizing adverse events.

  1. Describe the current definitions and recommended screening tools for sepsis and septic shock.
  2. Outline changes to the Surviving Sepsis Campaign Guideline (SCC) guidelines regarding resuscitation, anti-infectives, and additional therapies for the management of sepsis and septic shock.
  3. Implement effective strategies to maximize compliance with guideline recommendations while minimizing adverse events.
