Psychological Safety: Are you in your safe space?

This continuing education activity will provide background information and review literature that addresses what psychological safety is. There will also be explanation on psychological safety’s role in contributing to patient safety culture. Another important concept that will be discussed is how patient safety culture has been shown to impact patient outcomes in a hospital setting. Finally, suggestions on how to implement and maintain psychological safety will be addressed, which may translate into relatable actions for leaders and frontline staff. Greater awareness of these items will assist with bridging the knowledge gap and help to maintain and improve psychological safety in a hospital setting.
