Penn State M.S. Hershey Medical Center - Physician and Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Onboarding Program
The onboarding program will provide newly-hired physicians and APPs with knowledge of emerging issues within the healthcare industry, and will fill in skill gaps needed to support the changing practice landscape and professionalism expectations.

Learning Objectives
1. Describe the national landscape and emerging issues in providing high-quality, safe, and patient-centered care
2. Summarize the basic principles of clinician wellbeing and resilience, the risks of burnout, and the connection between resilience and process improvement
3. Discuss practice operations in my new setting, to include coding and documentation leading practices, performance evaluation expectations and processes
4. Explain how to navigate the health system setting, with a broader awareness of system mission, strategic priorities, career pathways, and financial issues
5. Outline care that reflects leading evidence-based practice in the involvement of patients and families, management of chronic disease, promotion of health equity, and cost-consciousness
