The Must Know of ECMO: Antibiotic Pharmacotherapy
New Orleans, LA US
November 18, 2021
The presentation will include background information on pharmacokinetic changes in critically ill patients and how ECMO device parts play a role in antibiotic pharmacokinetics. To become competent in dosing antibiotics in patients on ECMO, we will discuss how to approach these pharmacokinetic changes and review the current literature for frequently used antibiotics. Lastly, the information presented will be applied to a patient case by constructing an appropriately dosed antibiotic regimen in a patient on ECMO.
