Impact of COVID-19 on Antimicrobial Stewardship in Acute Care

This presentation explores COVID’s impact on three facets of antimicrobial stewardship. First, how does COVID impact antibiotic prescribing in the emergency department. Second, how does COVID change the way we perform antimicrobial stewardship activities and communicate recommendations. Finally, we explore the impact COVID has on the laboratory, including adoption of rapid diagnostics and changes made to mitigate shortage issues.
