This session will highlight the foundation for pathways to quality leadership though a review of the survey results of “Understanding the Pathway to the Contemporary Quality Executive”, and a panel discussion with leading quality executives who have navigated the journey. 

Target Audience

This activity is intended for physicians, nurses, health care quality professionals, and all other clinicians. 

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Discuss the need to establish key skills necessary for a quality executive in today’s healthcare environment.
  • Review findings from Vizient’s Quality Executives Network survey on “Understanding the Pathway of the Contemporary Quality Executive”.
  • Examine the path to quality leadership from leading executives to gain insights on the attributes necessary to execute a successful patient safety and performance improvement program.
  • Identify strategies for developing staff to become exceptional quality leaders.
