High reliability organizations operate in complex environments for extended periods of time without causing harm. They create management systems that improve patient outcomes, employee engagement, and workforce resiliency. This program provides an overview of high reliability organizations and the principles needed to sustain a level of standardized care through disruptions. Two nurse executives will share how their high reliability organizations provide consistent and safe patient care, develop competent leaders, and create a healthy culture that supports accountability and collaboration.
