Spend Management Operation Learning Series 2023: Purchasing Fundamental
Attendees will have exposure to a proven model to manage the purchasing process and engage in hands-on learning activities. Participants will receive a broad understanding of activities and processes impacting purchasing, leading practice processes, valuable tools, and techniques that they can apply within their own organization to better manage purchasing outcomes while maintaining a focus on cost and quality care delivery.
Through this 90-minute sessions, we will provide:
• Review the value an organization receives from a purchasing department
• Discuss leading practices and activities for purchasing
• Illustrate what activities are most valuable to perform as a buyer
• Evaluate the purpose of the basic steps of the purchasing cycle
• Discuss discrepancy management within the purchasing cycle and best practices
• Describe key purchasing practices based on different requirements
• Review processes associated with invoicing and payments
• Explain other activities beyond standard requisition to payment processing
• Describe key operational tasks within the purchasing process and KPIs
• Recognize essential reporting tools
• Explain how purchasing integrates with aspects of the overall sourcing strategy
