A Not So Humerus Update on Osteoporosis Treatment Guidelines
The purpose of this activity is to review the pathophysiology, classify disease severity, and management of osteoporosis in adults – providing pharmacists and pharmacy technicians with updated practice guidelines and recommendations to help ensure safe, optimal, and ideal patient care practice. Specifically, treatment will focus on three classes of medications bisphosphonates, anti-receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa beta ligand (RANKL), and sclerostin inhibitors.

- Describe the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment for osteoporosis
- Review and discuss the updated recommendations in pharmacological treatment of osteoporosis including romoszumab

Pharmacy tech objective:
- Identify medications used in osteoporosis including romoszumab
