2025 Supply Chain Leadership Series - Non-acute care strategies - hospital at home - On Demand

 

Learners participating in this continuing education activity will explore the operational, strategic, and supply chain elements of the UMass Hospital at Home program, a non-acute care model designed to deliver inpatient-level services in the home setting. Through an interactive discussion, participants will gain insights into insourced versus outsourced supply chain approaches, technology integration challenges, patient eligibility criteria, staffing models, and regulatory considerations. The session will emphasize practical strategies for scaling hospital at home programs, including vendor management, rapid response logistics, and cross-functional collaboration, tailored specifically for healthcare supply chain professionals and system leaders.

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:  

  1. Explain the structure and strategic goals of Hospital at Home (HaH) programs, including their role in addressing inpatient capacity and delivering acute care in the home setting.
  2. Identify key supply chain considerations and operational strategies necessary to support and scale HaH programs, including vendor management, logistics, and technology integration.
  3. Evaluate system-level challenges and opportunities related to implementing HaH models, such as regulatory, financial, and workforce factors impacting program success.
