In this activity, new nurse leaders will explore how professional identity, multidirectional influence, and adaptive leadership shape their effectiveness in complex clinical environments. Learners will examine how a strong professional identity supports engagement, safety, and team culture and practice interpreting real-world scenarios that require managing up, down, and across. They will also apply adaptive leadership principles by reflecting on a leadership moment from their own practice.

At the conclusion of this activity, learners should be able to:
- Explain how professional identity strengthens engagement, safety, and team culture.
- Analyze how nurse managers build influence in multiple directions by interpreting scenarios that require managing up, down, or across.
- Apply principles of adaptive leadership by evaluating a leadership moment from their own practice and identifying how shifting along at least one leadership continuum would improve clarity, trust, or team effectiveness.
