Staying Under the Curve with Vancomycin

The purpose of this activity is to equip pharmacy technicians and pharmacists with a better understanding on guideline driven monitoring for vancomycin and prepare our pharmacy team with a better understanding on the various equations used in AUC monitoring. The presentation will be organized to introduce the topic being discussed with general and background knowledge regarding vancomycin. Following the information of vancomycin, the presentation will discuss the various equations used and an explanation on how to apply the equations to a real-life setting. After explaining the equations, the topic will transition into interactive participation with the audience to apply the equations on a new patient case. The interactive participation will allow the pharmacy team to stay engaged and be comfortable with using the equation and practice amongst each other.
