The activity will train the learners on the responsibilities and accountability of the designated individual(s) as described in USP Chapters <797> and <800>. It will also help the learner develop a training program to ensure that all compounders, those with direct oversight of compounders, and personnel who restock or clean are trained, qualified, and competent in maintaining the quality of the sterile compounding environment.

Pharmacists
At the conclusion of this activity, pharmacists should be able to:
- Identify the responsibilities and accountability of the designated individual(s) as described in USP Chapters <797> and <800>
- Develop a training program to ensure that all compounders, those with direct oversight of compounders, and personnel who restock or clean are trained, qualified, and competent in maintaining the quality of the sterile compounding environment
- Explain proper facility and engineering controls to minimize risk of contamination of compounded sterile preparations
- Design required facility-specific Standard Operating Procedures

At the conclusion of this activity, pharmacy technicians should be able to:
