These sessions will provide positive and helpful insights for risk management professionals in leadership positions working towards improvements in the delivery safe and high quality healthcare at academic medical centers. The sessions will provide a roadmap for risk management leaders to collaborate with peers in the organization to design improved processes to assist leaders to address current challenges at their respective organizations.

Learning Objectives

Analyze and assess the operational and leadership roles of the risk manager in the setting of large-scale or significant event occurrences, providing specific ideas for consideration and implementation.
Apply risk management and bioethical principles to determine the best course of action when providing support to staff and key-stake holders when faced with large-scale or significant events.
Discuss the impacts of burnout and moral distress on the risk manager and review key methods to address them.
