The New Academia on Febrile Neutropenia
Variations in clinical practice when providing care for pediatric febrile neutropenic patients exists; these include selection and use of antibiotics and cessation of treatment. As a result, there are gaps in practice that must be addressed through education of the foundational concepts and updates in management of the disease. They must be knowledgeable about the latest evidence-based treatment guidelines and the evolving management of febrile neutropenia in pediatric patients presenting in the emergency department.
