Little Lungs, Big Impact: Navigating Pediatric Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension
This continuing education activity will bridge the knowledge gaps in pediatric pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) by providing pharmacists with a comprehensive understanding of the pathophysiology, classification, and clinical presentation of pediatric PAH. Through the learning objectives, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians will gain familiarity with the pharmacological agents used in treatment, including brand and generic names, and review current treatment options. The activity will also guide pharmacists in applying guidelines and literature to real patient cases, ensuring evidence-based decision-making. Additionally, it will address the pharmacist's role in optimizing medication therapy, managing Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies (REMS), and enhancing patient care, ultimately improving outcomes for pediatric PAH patients.
