Lean Fundamentals and Data Analytics Boot Camp - Atlanta, GA
This training will introduce participants to Lean principles such as value, waste, the PDSA cycle of improvement and the four rules in use. Participants will also receive instruction on the use of tools to analyze data and describe the current state of process performance including value stream mapping, 5 whys, observation techniques, flowcharting, SIPOC and A3 problem solving. Participants will learn how to use data display tools to facilitate the analysis of data for improvement to help foster change and the need for accountability in healthcare.

- Describe the basic concepts that underpin lean improvement including value, waste, the PDSA cycle of improvement and the four rules in use
- Use tools to analyze the current state of process performance including value stream mapping, 5 whys, observation techniques, flowcharting, and SIPOC
- Use A3 problem solving to improve process performance
- Apply effective problem countermeasures including mistake proofing, 5S, and Kanban
- Define effective process and outcome metrics
- Use data display tools to facilitate the analysis of data for improvement
