Going Viral: Treatment of CMV Viremia in SOT
The purpose of this activity is to equip pharmacists and pharmacist technicians with recent literature regarding newer therapies approved to treat/prevent CMV infection, in addition to reinforcing the knowledge of the previously available therapies. Mirabavir (treatment) and letermovir (prevention) are the two most recent CMV therapies approved by the FDA. We will begin by discussing CMV and previously available therapies, and end with discussing the recent approvals of mirabavir and letermovir – along with other newer therapy options.
