Evaluating AI in MRI: Understanding the Technology and Measuring Real-World Impact

October 28, 2026 to October 29, 2026

The clinical AI landscape is expanding quickly, and imaging leaders are increasingly asked to evaluate solutions they did not build and may not fully understand. This session starts with the broader landscape of AI in clinical imaging, including the difference between supervised and unsupervised models, then narrows to MRI reconstruction and acceleration specifically. Attendees will learn what questions to ask when evaluating an AI imaging solution, from technical performance to workflow fit to economic impact. The session closes with a real-world AI enabled MRI solution example, showing how organizations typically evaluate the technology, measure its impact, and reach an adoption decision.

Target Audience

  • Radiologic Technologists
  • Other Healthcare Professionals

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the current landscape of AI in clinical imaging, including key distinctions such as supervised versus unsupervised models, and how these distinctions affect performance and applicability.
  • Identify the key questions to consider when evaluating an AI imaging solution or software, including clinical evidence, workflow integration, and the validity of vendor claims.
  • Apply an evaluation framework to a real-world AI enabled MRI solution example to illustrate how organizations can measure clinical and economic impact and move toward an adoption decision.
