Decrypting Cryptococcal Meningitis
The purpose of this CE is to educate pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and providers with information on recognition the signs and symptoms of cryptococcal meningitis. By providing the interdisciplinary team with information regarding the diagnosis and treatment of these diseases, our hope is the patients afflicted with cryptococcal meningitis will be provided with a timely diagnosis (i.e., not waiting for the Infectious Diseases consult team). Early diagnosis and treatment would allow affected patients to receive guideline directed treatment sooner providing a better quality of life, reducing medical spending for the patients, and alleviated the burden on health systems for extended work up periods and inpatient stays.
