Bunded payment for care advanced model while currently voluntary, will become mandatory after model year 6 at the end of 2023. It is essential that clinical documentation teams, coding teams and providers understand the concept of what they can do to provide support for capturing all patients that fall into a clinical episode of care ensuring compliance with BPCI-A requirements to assure appropriate reimbursement and avoid penalties.
