ForwardCoordinator Connections Workshop: Innovative Learning and Seminar Design

This session serves as an orientation and skill-building workshop to launch the Coordinator Connections: Innovative Learning and Seminar Design networking group. Nurse residency program coordinators will engage in an interactive session designed to strengthen their understanding of curriculum development best practices and active learning strategies. Participants will review the structure and goals of the 6-month collaborative group, which focuses on enhancing the design and delivery of nurse residency seminars. Through guided discussion, coordinators will clarify personal goals, identify specific seminars they wish to improve, and explore evidence-based approaches to curriculum evaluation and interactivity. Using a sample seminar topic, participants will analyze data, consider outcomes-focused evaluation methods, and engage with available resources to design an interactive learning session for nurse residents. The workshop will emphasize peer collaboration, sharing of best practices, and application of theoretical frameworks to strengthen teaching effectiveness.

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Identify at least one personal goal for improving nurse residency seminar content and facilitation within their program.
- Apply evidence-based strategies for curriculum design and interactive teaching to enhance learner engagement and seminar outcomes.
- Evaluate existing seminar sessions for opportunities to strengthen alignment with learning outcomes, theoretical frameworks, and resident needs.
