From Concept to Certification: Implementing an Age-Friendly ED

Attendees will gain insights into the certification process, key requirements, and best practices for implementing age-friendly care principles in the Emergency Department. Experts will discuss strategies for improving care for older adults, enhancing patient outcomes, and meeting national standards for age-friendly healthcare.

  • Discuss protocols for integrating the 4Ms model (What Matters, Medication, Mentation, and Mobility) into ED workflows to enhance care for older adults 
  • Describe practical steps to initiate or advance the journey toward age-friendly ED certification in their institution
  • Explain the requirements, benefits, and steps involved in achieving age-friendly ED certification
