Participants will hear from several subject matter experts and peers on a wide variety of topics. They will have a chance to raise questions and/or provide comments based on their own experiences and gain knowledge from each other during the presentations as well as during formal and informal networking opportunities.  Participants have met many times in the past and have a high comfort level in sharing with each other.

Attendees of prior year versions of this event indicate that high value realized from having a combination of subject matter experts and member-to-member dialogue.

  1. Outline a real world approach that can be used to perform an USP 825 compliance assessment.
  2. Review the current literature including evidence-based medicine guidelines on the use of non-opioid therapies for post-surgical pain.
  3. Identify the real time key challenges and successes for CAPP and MNS pharmacy network members.
  4. Explain the challenges for health system pharmacists associated with the use of medical cannabis.
  5. Discuss how to develop an opioid stewardship program in a small community hospital setting.
