This activity will discuss the technologies used in diabetes care such as continuous glucose monitoring (CGMs) and automated insulin delivery systems (AIDs) which are constantly evolving. This CE will cover both current guideline recommendations as well as emerging literature on the use of these systems in patients with diabetes.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, pharmacists should be able to:  

  • Compare the​ different types of CGMs and AIDs including functionality, monitoring, and clinical pearls. 
  • ​​Evaluate current guideline recommendations and literature on the use of CGMs and AIDs in diabetes care. ​
  • Identify patients who would benefit from CGMs and/or AIDs.

At the conclusion of this activity, pharmacy technicians should be able to:  

  • ​​Define what CGMs and AIDs.
  • Recognize CGM and AID products.
