2024 Reimbursement Series: The ABC & Ds of Reimbursement - Part A and 505b2 - On Demand

This activity will explore all things reimbursement related. Providers want to get paid for services rendered. This activity will bring knowledge around the process of reimbursement.

Carolyn will discuss reimbursement and identify ways to stay informed of new and changing NTAP drug payments and the requirements of eligibility. She will also discuss operational and financial challenges of 505b2 approved medication and differentiate the 505b2 approved medications. She will identify ways to stay informed of new and changing NTAP drug payments that exist.Questions and answers will be addressed

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this activity pharmacists should be able to:
•    Discuss reimbursement from Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for new medications.
•    Identify ways to stay informed of new and changing NTAP drug payments that exist.
•    Describe the operational and financial challenges of 505(b)(2) approved medications. 

At the completion of this activity pharmacy technicians should be able to:
•    Recall the purpose of NTAP drug payments in the Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS) and the requirements for eligibility.
•    Differentiate product selection of 505(b)(2) approved medications.
