2026 Impact - W78 - From Risk to Reliability: Systemwide Language Access Transformation - On Demand
Care New England (CNE) faced fragmented interpreter services, regulatory risk and inconsistent patient access to language services, including a Department of Justice case tied to gaps in interpretation. In partnership with Vizient, CNE implemented a systemwide language access transformation that unified vendors, standardized policy and introduced data-driven oversight. Over one year, CNE achieved more than $325,000 (35%) of total spend in realized savings while also increasing utilization, improving staff satisfaction, and establishing a scalable governance and technology model. This session shares a phased, replicable approach to stabilize access, reduce risk and build sustainable language access infrastructure.
