2026 Impact - P112 - From Variability to Reliability: Building a Scalable Clinic Activation Framework - On Demand

UCLA Health transformed clinic activations from unpredictable, resource-draining events into a reliable operational engine. Starting in July 2023, we replaced ad hoc clinic activations with a systematic project management framework that integrates standardized tools, cross-functional partnerships and continuous improvement. Over 18 months, we activated 9 complex clinics across more than 13 specialties, achieving 100% stakeholder satisfaction. Our innovation lies not in managing projects better, but in building a system that captures lessons learned and feeds them back into improving standards. This session demonstrates how to convert operational variability into strategic capability, enabling scalable growth without proportional increases in coordination burden or activation risk.
