2025 Imagine - P113 - Enhanced Clinical Efficiency and Safety: Implementing an AI-Powered Policy Platform - On Demand
Emory Healthcare addressed clinician challenges in accessing current clinical reference information, including policies, procedures and electronic medical record education documents, by developing Em-Chat, a clinical reference large language model providing quick access to over 8,000 Emory-specific documents. This initiative aimed to reduce reliance on outdated information and improve compliance and patient safety. After the successful implementation of Em-Chat at one system hospital, Em-Chat was met with enthusiasm and high user satisfaction rates. Early data indicates improved access to information and shows potential to decrease patient safety events and regulatory risk. Emory Healthcare anticipates that Em-Chat will enhance clinician satisfaction and contribute to a safer, more informed care environment.
