PTAP Accreditation

This activity will provide an overview of the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Practice Transition Accreditation Program (PTAP). Participants will be educated about the standards for accreditation and actionable steps for successfully completing an accreditation cycle for their Nurse Residency Program (NRP). We will review how to optimize NRPs based on the standards. The second half of the coordinator call will be a presentation from a PTAP accredited NRP Coordinator who will be sharing tips, tools for staying organized, and their experiences with the PTAP accreditation and re-accreditation process.

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:  

  • Identify the benefits of having an accredited transition to practice program (TTP).
  • Describe the PTAP standards for TTP programs
  • Describe the process for obtaining accreditation for a TTP program.
  • Describe methods for planning, preparing, and organizing throughout the stages of the PTAP accreditation process.
  • Identify and explain the resources utilized during the Practice Transition Accreditation Program (PTAP).
  • Discuss lessons learned from the PTAP accreditation experience and how these insights can inform future practices.
