The Nurse Residency Program Virtual Coordinator Training will give participants the knowledge, information and tools needed to successfully implement the NRP within their organization and support the nurse resident in the first year of practice. Participants will also have the opportunity to network with other coordinators and learn from their experiences.

Day Two – Content expert and facilitator Training: Part 1: Content expert and facilitator training: Part 2– 3.00 contact hours Nursing – 3.00 California Nursing

Describe the role of the content expert in the Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program

Describe how to adapt content to different care areas and learner needs

Identify engagement opportunities when presenting content

Describe the role of the facilitator in the Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program

Describe the purpose of clinical reflection time

Explain the various functions of the facilitator in ensuring success of the Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program

Discuss how to adapt small group content to meet nurse residents’ needs

Day Three – Program evaluation and data; Evidence-based practice initiative – 2.00 contact hours Nursing – 2.00 California Nursing

Verbalize the purpose of evidence-based practice (EBP) in the Nurse Residency Program

Describe expectations of the EBP initiative

Outline components of a PICO(T) question

Define return on investment for EBP

Explain the surveys utilized in the Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program

Describe how metrics can be used to evaluate Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program

Demonstrate ways to highlight data for specific stakeholders

Various state license boards and credentialing bodies accept certificates of participation from accredited CE activities to meet CE requirements for license renewals and re-certification. It is the responsibility of the participant to contact their state licensing board and/or certifying body for verification on credit eligibility reciprocity.
