2026 Impact - T11 - From Data to Action: Scaling Care Standardization - On Demand

In 2025, Mount Sinai Health System launched its first systemwide Nudge Unit, the Value and Outcomes Committee, to drive care standardization and value-based outcomes across a multihospital academic system. Embedded within executive governance and operational committees, the Nudge Unit applies behavioral science principles and Vizient benchmarking to identify unwarranted variation, align provider behavior with evidence-based pathways and reduce total cost of care. This initiative demonstrates how integrating utilization benchmarking into core operations enables rapid clinician alignment, scalable interventions and measurable improvements in resource utilization and quality outcomes.
