Wendy Forys

Wendy has over 30 years of experience in healthcare including nursing operations, patient safety and regulatory, along with other services in a variety of healthcare settings. Her clinical and nursing leadership practice areas include the Emergency Department at both rural and Level 1 Trauma Centers and specialized in forensic nursing as a SANE. Additionally, she has experience in Intensive Care, Urgent Care, Ambulatory, Regulatory, and Surgical Services.
Prior to joining Vizient, Wendy served as a surveyor for CMS and a state agency. She surveyed to all conditions of participation including time spent supporting immediate jeopardy abatement, behavioral health units and stand-alone behavioral health hospitals, LTACH facilities, rehab facilities, patient safety event investigation and mitigation, clinical assessment of new construction, and EMTALA.
In her role as a regulatory and accreditation consultant, Wendy Forys is responsible for delivering accreditation and regulatory services including mock surveys/gap assessments for hospital, critical access, ambulatory and behavioral health programs, disease specific certifications, and CMS conditions of participation. Wendy also provides coaching during surveys to brainstorm evidence of compliance or mitigate areas of non-compliance. She has served as faculty for educational presentations on accreditation and CMS compliance topics. In her role she ensures that leaders are receiving maximum value from their participation in Vizient’s accreditation advisory services.
Wendy earned her Juris Master’s in Healthcare Regulations from Florida State University College of Law, as well as a Master of Science in Nursing at Loyola University and a Bachelor of Science in Health Administration at the University of Illinois. Wendy currently resides in Florida
