Alexandra Wroe, RN, CMAC, BSN, MBA
Alexandra Wroe is the Chief Operating Officer of The Queen’s Medical Center – Manamana (Punchbowl) and a Senior Vice President at The Queen’s Health Systems (QHS). She oversees the daily operations of Queen’s flagship hospital campus in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Alex previously served as Vice President of Patient Care, overseeing the Department of Medicine, Care Coordination, Utilization Management, and Clinical Documentation Improvement at QHS since 2021. She provided leadership and strategic guidance over the Department of Medicine and played an important role in standardizing clinical protocol, advancing quality and patient safety, and continuing to lead Queen’s care coordination efforts. In this role, she also led the patient flow division and launched the innovative Aukahi Center, utilizing Command Center software to improve patient access and optimize throughput across the system.
Alex joined QHS in 2016 as Manager of Case Management and Utilization Management Services. She redesigned care coordination to build a highly effective department and achieve length-of-stay reductions. She was promoted to Director of Care Coordination in 2018 and developed strong relationships with community partners to ensure post-acute placement for some of Queen’s most vulnerable patients. Under her leadership, The Queen’s Care Coalition was nationally recognized for its outstanding and novel approach to connecting with the community to improve patient outcomes.
Alex earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Laurentian University in Ontario, Canada, and her Executive Master of Business Administration from the University of Ottawa in Ontario, Canada. She serves on the Board of Directors at Navian Hawai‘i.
Alex lives a very active lifestyle with her husband and 3 young children in Hawaii Kai, you will find them at the soccer field, skate park and enjoying many ocean adventures!
