2025 Imagine - P153 - Warfarin and Hospital Stay: “A Clot” of Unwanted Time - On Demand

This session analyzes the impact of warfarin use on the length of stay (LOS) and blood transfusion rates of cardiac surgery patients, using data from WVU Medicine and the Vizient Clinical Data Base. Findings indicate warfarin is associated with significant increases in LOS and blood use, raising concerns about the fairness of current quality metrics.
