2025 Imagine - P119 - Optimizing Acute Care Surgery: Success in Mortality and LOS - On Demand
In fiscal year 2024 (FY24), Lehigh Valley Hospital’s Cedar Crest transplant service line focused on safe and expeditious kidney transplant recipient and donor length of stay (LOS), while also increasing the volumes of both kidney recipients and kidney donors. Using advanced surgical techniques (robotics) and interdisciplinary team care coordination, the transplant service line achieved the lowest LOS for kidney recipients while achieving zero deaths and readmission rates below the median of all comprehensive academic medical centers in the Vizient Clinical Data Base in FY24.
