USP Chapters <795> and <797> Update: Understanding the Revised Compounding Standards - On Demand

On June 1st, the USP standards for sterile compounding, USP Chapter 797, and non-sterile compounding, USP Chapter 795, were updated to clarify previously ambiguous content in the Chapters, reflect scientific developments, incorporate advancements in clinical practice, and to harmonize with USP General Chapter 800 Hazardous Drugs—Handling in Healthcare Settings. The published changes will become enforceable on December 1, 2019. Conforming to the changes of the revised Chapters in a short amount of time and the new hazardous drug standards will require swift preparation, budget considerations, and practice changes. The learning activity will provide a summary of the major changes in each Chapter and best practices to assist with successfully complying with the new standards.
