Financial Relationships
Definition: Any relationship in which the individual benefits by receiving a salary, royalty, intellectual property rights, consulting fee, honoraria for promotional speakers’ bureau, ownership interest (e.g., stocks, stock options or other ownership interest, excluding diversified mutual funds), or other financial benefit.
Examples of Financial Relationships:
- Advisor
- Consultant
- Employee (salary)
- Executive Role
- Fees Received for Promotional Services (regardless of their source)
- e.g., speakers bureau presentations that are not accredited for a CE activity
- Independent contractor (including contracted research)
- Individual Stocks and Stock options
- Ownership Interest
- Researcher
- Research Funding (principal or named investigator)
- including funds that are received by your institution and not directly by you
- Royalties or Patent Beneficiary
- Speaker
