The session introduces the Medical Equipment Proactive Alliance (MEPA), providing tools and frameworks for implementing sustainable medical equipment strategies grounded in real-world success stories.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Explain the origins, mission, and goals of the Medical Equipment Proactive Alliance (MEPA) and its role in advancing sustainable medical equipment practices.
  • Identify and apply MEPA criteria and standards for the procurement, use, and disposal of medical equipment in environmentally responsible ways.
  • Discuss case studies and real-world examples of sustainability initiatives to evaluate their effectiveness and applicability in various healthcare settings.
  • Implement sustainability principles to practical scenarios to assess environmental risks and develop proactive strategies for continuous improvement in sustainability.
