ASHP 2020 Forecast: Improving Pharmacy Practice

The ASHP Forecast surveys health leaders across the country to evaluate and anticipate trends in pharmacy practice over the next 5 years. The Forecast is also a tool for deliberate and active strategic planning. ASHP Forecast is an annual survey sent to nominated thought leaders in pharmacy referred to as Forecast Panelists (FP), typically basing their recommendations on trends expected in the next 5 years. This presentation will address the trends affecting pharmacy and the importance of addressing these in a thorough proactive plan. Barriers to progress will be discussed for better understanding of the approach to a plan for one’s site.

  2. Discuss how to adapt to a rapidly changing world by identifying large scale trends and developing a multilevel pharmacy team to plan for success

  1. Give examples of how technicians can support higher distributive tasks in the pharmacy and work at the top of their license
