2026 Impact - W62 - Rounding Together: Improving Flow Through Team-Based Care - On Demand
Advancing patient flow requires both clinical alignment and operational leadership. An initiative at University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center redesigned interdisciplinary bedside rounding to bring nurses, physicians and case managers together in the patient room, improving communication and discharge coordination. Similarly, Boston Medical Center scaled multidisciplinary rounds into a data-driven model, embedding predictive analytics, barrier tracking and leadership accountability to reduce length of stay and ED boarding. Together, these approaches highlight how coordinated teamwork and transparent performance management can drive sustainable gains in flow, experience and financial outcomes. Attend to learn how to operationalize these practices in your setting.
