Advancing Partnerships in Healthcare and Higher Education
This month’s coordinator call, led by Meg Ingram, Lead Programmatic Advisor at Vizient, is dedicated to the strategic establishment and cultivation of Academic Practice Partnerships that enhance and empower Nurse Residency Programs (NRPs). The session’s primary goal is to equip program coordinators and other stakeholders with the knowledge and tools necessary to form successful partnerships between healthcare organizations and academic institutions.
The session will delve into the critical role of these partnerships in optimizing NRPs. Attendees will learn how these collaborations can significantly improve the quality of residency programs, resulting in better-prepared, confident, and competent nurses.
As an expert in nursing education and transition to practice, Meg will guide participants through the process of identifying viable academic partners and defining mutual goals specific to NRPs. The session will further explore the delineation of tasks and responsibilities within the partnership and the creation of a Memorandum of Understanding to formalize the collaboration. Through engaging discussions, attendees will also gain insights into leveraging data to inform these partnerships to create a supportive and enriching environment for nurse residents.
