In his role as a Physical Environment Accreditation Advisor, John provides evaluation, education, and consultation services to hospitals and healthcare systems in alignment with applicable CMS and Joint Commission regulations. His more than 30 years of healthcare and leadership experience bring significant value to organizations as they focus on compliance and industry best practices in the areas of the physical environment, emergency management, and organizational security.

Prior to joining Vizient, John served as a full-time Life Safety Surveyor with the Joint Commission and spent 26 years in a variety of support services leadership roles. His most recent position was System Director of Security and Emergency Management for a 16-hospital health system. Earlier in his career, he held roles including System Facilities Director, Director of Support Services, and Information Technology Manager.

John’s areas of expertise include regulatory compliance related to Physical Environment, Emergency Management, and Security/Workplace Violence. He also has a strong background in construction oversight, support services software and technology implementation, education and training, and quality improvement initiatives.

John earned his MBA from the University of South Florida and his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Mercer University.

John currently resides in Florida.
